So proud of these two, speaking in front of everyone.

Elf yourself!
Hoiho gave Mrs Aberhart an idea. Yesterday he left us an app for the iPad called elfyourself. We take pictures of each other and then it turns us into dancing elves! Very funny!
So today we made ourselves into elves. Check us out on our classroom window.

Pippin and Hoiho
We got to school on Monday to find that we had some visitors over the weekend!
Pippin (one of Santa's elves) had come to visit. He decorated the room for Christmas. Santa sent us some mail as well!
In our parcel was Hoiho, one of Santa's penguins, to help pippin find people to go on his nice list.
We secretly write down 2 people that we notice being good and Pippin and Hoiho choose 2 of the names and leaves them a small gift.
But they seem to be playing with things in our room! Check back in the days to come to see what mischief those two have been up to!
Jayda has spotted someone being nice...
Checking out Pippins letter and who is getting the gifts...
Pippin and Hoiho had been playing our games when we got to school today!

Sharing our inventions
Yesterday we shared the games that we invented with Room 11
Our design brief was-
It had to be fun
Be able to be used repeatedly (sturdy materials)
About a wharenui
Room 11 thought we achieved our design brief.
Below is a video of us sharing our games
What was the best thing about your game? What is one thing you would change/modify?

Inventing Games
This term we have been making our own versions of a popular board game.
We have used the design process to make them.
Our brief was that we needed to make a game so our friends could learn about a wharenui.
It had to be
-fun to play
-strong enough to be used over and over
-about a wharenui
3 groups have finished and 2 groups are nearly done.
Below is a picture of us making or testing our games.
We can't wait to play our games with Room 11.
What has been your favourite part of making your board game?

School Fair
What a great day it was at the fair yesterday.
Our class painting sold for $285! Well done Room 10. Blake from Room 1 has the perfect spot for it to hang in his room.
Our stress balls were a hit!
They were all sold out by 12.30pm!
We made around $150 from our stall. There will be a lot less stressed people around now!
Did you come to the fair? Leave a note on our padlet about the fair

The Scary Storm
The Scary Storm
On terrible Tuesday there was big storm after lunch, at night. After my dinner my dad told me... That one of the branches came off. Even my dads chair fell down. I was upset because it was scary it was hard as a brick, it was fast as a cheater. Even it was scary like a monster I don't like hard wind because it scares me.

Our teachers...
Room 10 have been learning to write descriptions. If you get the chance, come and read their stories and see their paintings of Mrs Moore and Mrs Aberhart. They are on our windows.
I think they have done an amazing job!

How to do the cup song step by step!
This week we are looking at instructions. We have started off by learning how to do the actions to the cup song from pitch perfect.
This is the full version of the song.
Do you think we will get this good?

Today's poem
Bendy bodies
Head, shoulders, knees and nose
Can I touch these with my toes?
If I wriggle, bend and twist
I will look silly in this pose
Ears, elbows, tummy
Can I touch these with my knee?
If I squeeze and push and rock
I wonder what we'll see?
Shoulders, back and hips
Can I touch these with my hand?
If I wiggle, swing and tap
I think I'll do it grand
I like to stretch and bend my body
It is just so much fun!
How many other ways can we move like this?
Come on - everyone.

Reading with Tui
Tui have been learning about keywords in sentences and finding the main idea in a story.
Last week they read an article about William Atack. This week they have used the keywords to summarize the story by making a sock puppet movie on the iPads. (They used the feltboard app to make their backgrounds)
